Vedic Astrology is basically composed of the following six branches: Positional Astronomy (Gola), Mathematical computations to understand the Gola (Ganita), Natal Astronomy (Jataka), Answering questions (Prasna), Knowledge regarding the auspicious timing for events (Muhurta) and Potents and omens (Nimitta).
