Bagini Glacier Trek is one of the hidden Himalayan expeditions of Uttarakhand, offering untouched mountain landscapes, remote Himalayan villages, glacier valleys, and breathtaking views of legendary peaks including Changbang, Kalanka, Dunagiri, and Rishi Pahar.

Located deep in the Garhwal Himalayas of Chamoli district, this trek takes travellers far beyond commercial trekking routes into untouched alpine wilderness where silence, glaciers, rivers, and towering mountains dominate the landscape. The journey begins from the spiritual town of Rishikesh and gradually ascends through Joshimath into ancient Himalayan settlements such as Dronagiri village before entering the high-altitude glacier region.

Thoughtfully paced with proper acclimatization, the expedition offers both physical challenge and deep inner stillness amidst the grandeur of the Himalayas.

Fitness & Preparation

This trek involves moderate to challenging Himalayan terrain including forests, rocky trails, river crossings, and high-altitude regions.

Guests are advised to begin light fitness preparation 4–6 weeks before the trek through walking, stair climbing, stretching, and cardio exercises. Proper acclimatization, hydration, and gradual pacing are essential for a comfortable trekking experience.

Altitude & Health Awareness

Certain trekking routes may reach high altitudes where oxygen levels are lower. Mild symptoms like headache, fatigue, or shortness of breath may occasionally occur.

Guests are advised to stay hydrated, avoid alcohol / smoking, maintain a gradual walking pace, and immediately inform the trek leader in case of discomfort.

Safety & Rescue Support

Treks are supported by experienced trek leaders, local mountain guides, camping staff, first-aid kits, and oxygen support where required. Emergency evacuation assistance will be coordinated depending on terrain and weather conditions. Personal travel and medical insurance covering trekking activities is highly recommended.

Who Should Avoid This Trek

This trek is not recommended for individuals with severe heart conditions, chronic respiratory illness, uncontrolled high blood pressure, serious mobility limitations, or other major medical concerns that may be affected by high-altitude trekking conditions.

Pregnant women and guests with recent major surgeries are also advised not to participate without prior medical approval. Guests should be physically fit, mentally prepared, and comfortable walking for several hours in mountain terrain.

Cancellation Terms

  • More than 45 days before departure: $350 non-refundable.
  • 45–30 days before departure: 50% cancellation charges.
  • 30–20 days before departure: 75% cancellation charges.
  • Less than 20 days before departure: No refund.
